The Riveting Women blog spotlights women who are leaders in their communities and what makes them unique, special, or awesome every day. These are women in business, politics, the arts, education, and faith-based service fields that everyone should get to know.

Write for Us

We do not pretend we know all the great women in the world, so we ask: Do you have a woman who deserves to shine in the spotlight? Yes? Then write about her for us! Submit her story and, if accepted, we will add your byline to the story telling us all about these wonderful women.

How should you write?

We can’t wait to read your stories! So, when evaluating a potential post, here are some questions you should be asking yourself:

Why should or would this woman matter to people in our region?
How is this woman an influencer in our community?
What has this woman done that is game-changing or trailblazing in her field?
Who is this woman helping, or who will be helped by her?

Our posts are meant to convey positive opinions about the women we choose. Any submissions should help our readers both learn something new about the women being profiled and why they should like, do business with, learn from, volunteer for and vote for the women we highlight. We want to ensure all Riveting Women posts have:

Background information. Give readers the details they need to get an idea of who the woman is and what she stands for. Avoid fluffy descriptions that so often accompany profiles of female leaders and give us the details of what has had the
most influence on who she has become in her life, her career, etc.

Talk to us. Pretend we’re having a drink and you’re telling me about a good friend you think I would adore getting to know. Stay away from highly technical or industry-specific jargon and make it less formal so that you appeal to a broader reading audience.

Hook ‘em. Give us a headline and introductory paragraph that would allow readers to easily summarize for their friends and family why this woman is terrific and everyone should know her name yesterday.
