Tameka Montgomery is raising entrepreneurs in her home and helping parents in the community do the same. Her Raising Entrepreneurs podcast: A Parents Guide to Fostering an Entrepreneurial Mindset focuses on equipping parents with strategies and tactics for raising kids who think and act entrepreneurially. The podcast is hosted by Tameka, a mom on a mission to raise kids, who are self-reliant and financially independent.

Entrepreneurship and overseeing small business training is not new to Tameka, after receiving her MBA from Columbia University and a brief stint with the department of justice, she realized she wanted to be part of the business community and help small business, the backbone of our country succeed. A large part of her career was spent in Denver where she received many awards and National recognition for the Score Program she managed, the incubator she launched, and her role as the Executive Director of The Denver Metro Leadership Foundation, her success lead to the appointment by The Obama Administration to oversee the Office of Entrepreneurial Development, managing a budget of one hundred sixty million dollars, She created impressive programs for women, still in existence today because she had the foresight to fund them into the next administration.

Her desire to focus on young entrepreneurs happened-organically, she has three wonderful young sons, a self-employed spouse, and over the years she noticed the mindset and skill sets successful entrepreneurs demonstrated, so much so she could almost always identify these traits in successful business owners. Tameka knows that showing kids their potential early and allowing them to explore and experience what it means to be an entrepreneur is what will lead to growing successful future business leaders. Her experience creating programs and implementing policy initiatives naturally led her to be the perfect person to launch The Inaugural Montgomery County Children’s Business Fair taking place this Saturday, September 22nd from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at The Rockville Town Square in Montgomery County where 37 vendors, children 6 to 16 will showcase their creations for sale to the public. Riveting Women and several businesses are excited and proud to be a sponsor of this event. We hope you will attend and consider sponsoring in the future.
